Nicky Briffa 1947 - 2023

Biography

Nicky Briffa was a very enthusiastic magician and a very able craftsman.  His performance life was very short because he entered into national and local politics and became mayor in the Mqabba local council in 2009.  Before that, he was very much involved within the Labour Party and was financial controller for the Party’s TV station.

However, at home, he even had a small stage where he performed magic for his friends.  Through his carpentry skills, he built many illusions, quite a number of which, he performed regularly in a series on TV called SITTA SITTA with well-known quizmaster and broadcaster Charles Xuereb.  He also presented some of his grand illusions at the Ring events and at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, mostly assisted by his wife, Gina. For a while, he also indulged in acting in TV soap operas.

Nicky and Gina had two boys, Aldo and Aaron.

Sadly, Nicky had a very severe stroke and he passed away at the age of 76  on the 8th August 2023.
