About Us
In 1968, a group of Maltese magicians, including George and Alfred Sharples, Philip Sammut, and George Gatt, established the Malta Magic Club. With the Sharples brothers' efforts, it soon became affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Magicians, known as Ring 202. It was renamed The Malta Magic Circle and hosted various stage shows at different venues. George Sharples and Dr. Joseph Saliba played significant roles in securing a regular meeting place and winning international awards for the club. However, the circle dissolved in the mid-1970s.
The circle was later revived by Vanni Pule', Chris Gove', and Louis Abela, regaining its affiliation with the International Brotherhood of Magicians and becoming known as The Magicians' Society. Since then, it has been active on national and international levels, hosting performers and lecturers. It organized events like an International Convention and a series of variety shows, such as "Illusions" and "cineMAGIC." They have also participated in cultural events like 'Notte Bianca' in Valletta.
